What do you get when you combine a fall Friday night, flashlights, frankfurters, a farm, a bonfire, and fourth and fifth grade students? A REALLY FUN NIGHT!! On Friday, November 16th, 23 4th & 5th grade students and 8 adults converged on the Jernigan's Farm in Smithsburg for our Annual Fall Sunday School Rewards Outing. Students have lots of opportunities to work on earning "points" by memorizing Scripture, bringing their Bibles to class, and by turning in other "special assignments" for points. About half the class (those that have earned the most points) are then invited to a night of games, competitions, a bonfire complete with hot dogs and marshmallows roasted at the bonfire, and more rewards. This year there was also a special treat of seeing some unusual pets at the Jernigan's...emu's, an ostrich, and a red goat! The night was very cold but a great time was had by all!
For the month of December, our students are working as teams (4th grade boys, 4th grade girls, 5th grade boys, and 5th grade girls) to earn points for their team. Their reward is hanging from the ceiling in our classroom...a 7' candy cane filled with candy! Stop by and take a look!!
